Who we are
Melt & Morsel is a small, home-based chocolate business in Brampton, Ontario. This policy explains what information we collect through meltandmorsel.ca and how we use it. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
- Reviews. When you leave a review we save your star rating, the name you type and your comment (if you add one). Approved reviews show on our website with your first name and last initial only.
- Spam protection. To stop spam we keep a scrambled code made from your internet address. We cannot turn it back into your address and we never store the address itself.
- Orders and payments. Orders happen in Instagram or Facebook messages, and payments by Interac e-Transfer go through your own bank. We see the name and message you send with the transfer, but never your banking details.
What we don't do
- We don't use advertising trackers, analytics tools or tracking cookies.
- We don't sell, rent or share your information with anyone.
- We don't send marketing emails.
Other services
Our website loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your device's internet address when the page loads. Links to Instagram and Facebook take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies. Our hosting provider (Hostinger) keeps standard server logs for security.
How long we keep it
We keep reviews until you ask us to remove them, or until we take them down. Spam-protection codes are only used to limit repeat submissions.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your review at any time. Send us a message on Instagram at @meltandmorsel_co and we'll take care of it.
We handle personal information in line with Canada's privacy law (PIPEDA).
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
